How Oblyn judges a price

1. 1It reads the brands' own sitesEvery few hours, Oblyn reads each brand's Canadian store, and its outlet and used-gear shop when it has them: every price, colour and size.
2. 2A Reg. price has to be realA cut only counts if the shop actually charged the Reg. price. If it was charged on fewer than 7 of the days we tracked, Oblyn says so and doesn't show a cut.
3. 3Each item has its own usual priceOblyn compares today's price with what that item usually cost over the last 90 days. After a month of prices, it can say whether a price is below usual or the lowest it has seen.
4. 4A sale is many cuts at onceWhen many of a shop's items are marked down together, Oblyn calls it a sale: when it started, its median cut, and whether it got deeper. Used gear is compared with the same style new.

What Oblyn is not

• Not a shop: it sells nothing, shows no ads and uses no affiliate links.
• Not the final word on price: prices can change after they're read, and the shop's own site has the price you pay.
• Not watching you: your sizes stay in this browser, and in your account only if you sign in.
